Description
The polytetrafluoroethylene membrane is used to filter aggressive chemicals, including acids and non-aqueous solvents, and is also used in GC and HPLC sample preparation. Since it has a low flow resistance to gases, the membrane is also used for air and gas filtration (aeration and ventilation tasks). PTFE membranes are very internal (compatibility list) and hydrophobic (but can be made hydrophilic by wetting with e.g. ethanol).
